For everyone's SA on safety requirement:
“Stock” convertibles in Groups A-C require at least a 4-point roll bar and 5-point harnesses for both the driver and the passenger. Groups D (beginner), C (novice), B (intermediate) and A (advanced).

I'm confirming, Frank (see 2016 rules below). I just got off the phone with Norm just now and will have that confirmed for the S2000. All the years prior, the S2000 was allowed to run with stock seats, belts, and roll bars. Standby.

While we're waiting, the 2016 rules said the same thing: http://www.ponytales.org/sites/defau...eralInfoV2.pdf

S2000 with stock rollover protection, seats and belts were still permitted though.

So it may change?

Either way, I plan to do the PCA in Sept also and it is a must for driver and passenger seat to have same/similar setup. So I plan to install a Circuit II for driver side and move my Evo2 to passenger side.

So, you plan on putting an old man in his place eh?

You will be happy in A group, much more space to go flat out without traffic.

I will see what I can do to actually change the rules to explicitly state that S2000's are permitted in any run group with factory rollover protection.

They like having the S2000's out there with them, and its real fun for us too.

The "Convertibles" statement is due to the fact that no Mustang convertibles come with adequate rollover protection from the factory. It's much easier to have a blanket statement and address each unique case by case than understand every convertible out there.

I wonder how many convertibles we scare off due to that poorly written rule.

No S2000 will be turned away from any run group they have the experience to participate in. If anyone does, please email me at president@ponytales.org

Man this looks sweet. Good first event for a track rookie? My only worry would be that it's three hours away and god forbid something happen on my car, i'd be in trouble. Going to seriously consider going though

Absolutely. This was my first event on track ever back in 2011. It was so awesome I just keep coming back year after year even though I run mostly with THSCC and NASA now. You'll have a blast man. Come on down!

My car will (hopefully) be fully prepped and on the trailer for East Coast Championships the following weekend by this point but if everything looks good I'll shoot down and hang out.
