Everyone should buy a Mercedes!
I just picked up the Smart Roadster from the Smart/Mercedes dealership. My wife and I have never been treated better while buying a car. Compared to this, every other car dealership we have dealt with looks like a try hard!
1. The salesperson offered to drive the a car to our place so that I could test drive it. No questions or obligations. That was a 60 mile round trip!. Later he offered to deliver it to our door if going to the dealership was inconvenient.
2. The finance guy did everything he could to help us out. Not just your everyday finance manager tricks which leave you feeling like all they care about is selling you a car. This guy was straight forward on what we could and could not afford, did all of the paperwork while we were served cofee, tea and cookies by the salesman and just plain treated us like VIPs.
3. The salesperson came to the dealership on his day off to deliver the car. That is no biggie but that is all he went in for, and he lives 45 mintes away.
4. Another salesperson took care of me when I dropped in (was in the area) to ask a few questions and the guy I had been dealing with was out on a test drive. She new everything about the car I wanted, when it was coming, etc. If it wasn't because one was a man and the other a woman I may not have noticed I was talking to another sales person!
5. The reception area of the service department is nothing like you have seen before. Instead of each service rep having a tiny little office they have an open space with desks and computers that look more like executive desks than service reps. There is a coffee bar (with a bar tender) and three leather loungers for you to wait.
6. To make sure we enjoyed the car they gaves us a little welcome package that included: Two visor caps, key chain, CD carrying case, A streed Directory (City MAP) and a subscription to the Mercedes Benz magazine.
7. The car comes with 3 years/ UNLIMITED MILES bumper to bumper warranty. 24 hour road side assistance, towing, $1000 car rental/accommodation allowance at no extra cost (basically better than a AAA membership).
To be fair, we have never bought a fancy brand of car before but even when we bought the S we were not treated this way.
So there you have it. If you can afford it you should buy yourself a Mercedes, if only to experience first hand the excellent treatment.

We should get them to sell the S2000, but seriously I bought my S from Byrant Honda in fayettevile in '02. I paid under 28,000 for it and the dealer delivered it to my front door. Not to mention he parked down the street a ways because my wife didnt know I was buying it.
Still this doesnt compare to the Merc dealership.

yea benz service is great, my mother has the benz ML SUV and took it in the day before warranty expired, they went through everything on the car and changed a whole bunch of things that we didnt even notice as inconvienences, but would later turn into rattles and other problems if we left them alone. However benz build quality is nothng like honda build quality, we have 2 benzes and they have had numerous problems, i would suggest that you buy extended warranty.
