I'm finally replacing my old OEM top (with the cracked plastocrap window) with a new canvas and glass window model.
Questions answered and advice from you guys...

1. Which would you buy: EZ-on or Robbins?
2. Is this a job I can do myself or is it better to just pay a shop?
3. Can any of you be bribed into helping me one weekend if your beer of choice is provided?

Will, I have conversed with this company and they have been very helpful. ( http://theautotopshop.com/ ). They even sent me swatches of the different tops to review. I had recommended them to another person on another site, and they were very happy with the results and prices.

I'm going to be replacing my top in August towards the end of the month. I have the bill coming in soon for the engine rebuild and new transmission install I just did. Tapped out this month !

I'm in Mauldin, SC - maybe we could scheule time to assist each other with our tops and knock out two tops in one day.

Anyone know how long this takes ? (per top)

PS - Will also exchange copious amounts of beer for assistance too !

good luck i hear it take about 8 to 12 hours theres some DIY write ups u can look at and i know for a fact its alot money to have a company put it on ur best bet is to find someone on the fourm that has done it and pay them ...thats my 2 cents on this good luck tho

I'm also in Mauldin, SC, and would be willing to lend a helping hand, but I have never done it either.
I believe YellowJacket has done this a few times, and he said it takes about 4-5 hours.

YELLOWJACKET and I did mine in about 6 hours, first time ever for both of us.

I am replacing mine in late August or early September, once I get home from Iraq. I am in Fayetteville, NC. I would be willing to host a group, as I have the tools, and Lowe's is 2 miles away if we need anything else. I am doing a bunch of other work on the stook, as well.
