Default Help Needed!

As some of you all know my car was broken into about a week ago, and my convertible top was cut pretty bad. Well I just got done with the insurance claims adjuster, and it didn't go too well. To make a long story short, I've decided to order my new convertible top and install it myself. I was wondering if I anyone would be interested in helping me one of these upcoming weekends. I'm guessing August 4th because I should have my new convertible top in by then. I just really want someone's help that has done it before. Is there also any special tools I'm going to need? Also, alcohol and dinner is on me afterwards. Let me know if anyone is willing to help.

You will need a rivet gun, new rivets, drill and assorted bits, new elastic straps (can be bought at a hobby store or yarn store.. maybe even wal-mart), assortment of screwdrivers, sockets, and A LOT of time and patience. It can take between 8 and 14 hours to replace a top. Everything except the dash and door panels needs to come out.

I got shafted really bad on the labor estimate. At first, they wanted to try and repair my current convertible top. I also meant to add, I will drive to just about anywhere in the surrounding Charlotte, NC area for some help. I also can work around anyone's schedule as well.

I got an estimate of about $800.00 for the labor install, and the insurance claims adjuster only gave me $550.00 as the estimate.

have the shop send the adjuster/ who ever is working on your case the labor bill so he can send you a supplemental check. He should cover all the labor

They'll probably pay it (unless you're dealing with a tough comp... *cough*GEICO*cough) Estimates are just that...if it costs more, they'll typically pick up the difference.
