Default Its time!

Hey guys, well, despite my ongoing search for a S2K, a major factor that has been holding me back was my finances. I just recently was given a nice raise and has now put me at my target salary that I set for myself which gives me enough money to make a car payment etc. etc.

That being said, im just trying to firm up my budget so here are a couple of question that will help in finalizing my budget.

1. SC taxes for a 01 S2K
2. Range in insurance for a 24 Male / single Clean record in SC
3. Monthly amount in gasoline (Estimated 270 miles a week)

Also, I have one place that im calling tomorrow about a 01 GPW S2k. The place is Morrison Motor Company. Has anyone ever dealt with them before or has anyone ever heard anything about them. Here is the website, http://www.morrisonmotorco.com/

Also , once again i have to ask, if anyone has any information on a 00-01 GPW S2k with black and red interior, let me know...

Its so close I can smell it.

What is it with the GPW/Red s2k's?

Anyway, good luck in your search. You should be able to get yourself a good deal

Your best bet is to call your local dmv to get the tax rates, as they vary drasticly from county to county. Mine were $450 for an '02 this year. Same with insurance -- just call and get a quote, but expect $150-200/month.

270 miles is doable one one tank if you keep your foot out of it. I have a big ol' heavy foot and get around 210 miles per tank around town -- 300 when I set the cruise control on the interstate. That works out to about 19mpg around town and 26 on the road, although I have seen 32 mpg on a long stint down I81 with the hardtop on.

Now, with a name like BlueIon, I think you need to ditch this whole 'white thing' and loo for a blue s2k!!! I just happen to know a nice guy that has an '02 with 51k miles on it that was maintained religiously...

Don't just guess on insurance. Call and get quotes (from several places).

Regarding gas mileage, I've seen virtually identical numbers as SC_Highlander. Keep in mind when doing your gas budget that you'll be paying for premium.

Yes but you're still 24 that hurts. Can you wait a year? If not bite the bullet you should see a drop when you turn 25. Good luck.

I turn 25 in May....and I've waited for two years....and if i have to wait again, my little icon under my name, I'll probably be walking around with that look on my face for a whole year.

You don't drive a S2000 going back and forth from work then VTEC daily.

I get about 250 miles on a tank driving daily to work. 40 miles round trip, about 24 of that on the interstate. I usually get about 23-25MPG in this drive.

Long interstate trips at 77MPH I'm lucky to see 26mpg. Two lane highways crusing about 60MPH, consistantly see 33mpg.

A day at the track, 11MPG
