lease question
 

probably best to ask honda, but i thought id ask here first before spending 10 hours trying to find the answer...

i have my car under a lease, and id like to transfer the lease. if i transfer the lease, will i transfer the payments too? right now im paying 1% apr(main reason why its leased). my payments are ~$318 a month for 12k/36m lease. ive had the car 13 months.

If I recall correctly the lease cannot be transferred as it is a contract between you and the finance company. They usually make a new lease for the person you are 'transferring' the car to. But that just means that this person will get whatever rate and conditions apply at the time of the transfer.

You can still sell the car -- just find out from the lease co what the 'buyout/payoff' amount is.

well i wanted to transfer it to my friend, but her payments would be almost $100 more a month...oh well...i guess you guys are stuck with me for a lil longer :D
