Default May 6th Hooked on Driving Event

All,

Building off the closed thread. I just got off the phone with Dave and have the lsit of cars that are attending by different run group.

Our local crew has 7 members that are going to this event. We are caravanning up on Monday morning and will have some trailers with us. If anyone is interested in going, please let me know. Even if you just want to watch that's cool. I'm helping to show @ Concourse and will be exhausted on Monday so won't be pushing the limits and will likely take it a lot easier - in the Pcar and not the S.

I won't hold any liability and am not making any safety implications here. BUT... spoke to the flagger and VIR staff and they will not be checking for rollbars on cars without soft-tops. As such, I have a hardtop that I am willing to loan to someone on here. If I've spoken to you in the past/trust you, please feel free to drop me a note and you can gladly use my hardtop and *shouldn't* have any problems getting on the track. Caveat : I will not instruct/ride-along in non rollbar cars.

-Sam

I just moved down to Raleigh a couple weeks ago and also just picked up an S2K, I'll be at the event with a bunch of my friends who are coming down from NJ. Looking forward to meeting a few of you out there

Edit - In regards to what Sam said, I also spoke with the event coordinators and VIR, VIR doesn't allow the S2000 to run without a roll bar however hooked on drivings insurance does cover the S2000 with the factory roll bar and you will be allowed to drive in the event based upon the event coordinators discretion, so if you show up with a heavily modified car or hoosiers on and no roll bar, you're going to have to sit the event out. With that said, I'm 5'9" and don't come close to passing the broom stick test so I decided to take a rain check until I get a roll bar installed.
