Holy shit I'm out of gear. This thing pulls like a fawking freight train. Saw 124mph in the S's (in 6th gear), and 134 (and at about 8,100rpm in 6th) on both the front and back straights before I had to hit the brakes. I really wish I had the ability to get my phone working to get lap times. Oh well, CMP in October. Found some weird shard of metal that flatted my right rear RC1, so time to put on the Hoosiers as well and see what the purple crack is all about.

So after pulling the mysterious piece of metal out of my back right tire last weekend, I finally solved the mystery: my OWN brake indicator. Hawk Street/Race (same compound as DTC-30 and at the time were considerably cheaper) come with a single brake wear indicator for a front (and rear) set. Looks like I got this puppy too hot running the pad down so low, and as it cooled it snapped and got stuck in my rear tire. Oh well, time to finally put the Hoosiers on I guess.

New pads installed tonight and drained the oil (awaiting new filters). Putting the Hoosiers on soon :banana:

Whew...it's been a minute since an update! Was able to score an OE diff from my neighbor for a straight trade on my 4.77. So back at the beginning of April, I went to drop the old diff and install the new (to me). Rob Robinette's website had a great DIY and it seemed very straight forward, but HOLY SHIT these ap1 diff bolts are absolute garbage. I probably spent a total of 6 hours getting them all out, and the last one was the biggest PITA. Ended up hitting it with a cutting wheel, grabbed it with a pair of vice grips as tight as I could, and wrenched it off. The next to last one was a rather PITA as well, but when in doubt and it's already stripped, driving a 1/4" hex into the gouged 6mm hole worked well. New hardware ordered and the diff is installed. Now just waiting on hardrace motor mounts after finding out I cracked one.

Also had a very strange issue with my IACV, which seems that the bolt holding the valve to the body backed out (broken motor mount might have vibrated it all the way out). Car idled at 4k rpm coming back into the paddock in March! If any of you have a parts car and want to sell me yours, I'm a buyer.

New hard race motor mounts installed two weekends ago after realizing I had done two entire track weekends on a busted passenger side mount. Waited nearly 4 months for these to finally arrive!

Found out the battery was dead finally firing her up this weekend and swapped in my TSX one as a temp to test my diff install and new motor mounts (new EXT14 battery on order via Lowes for $73), the car still wouldn't fire up. Smelling gas, I assumed spark, so I pulled the plugs and these things were toast. Ran up to Autozone and replaced with exact same NGKs, installed, and she fired right up. Engine vibration is still noticeable, but now it doesn't feel like the motor is about to drop out of the car.

I assume these are so carbon'd up because of the overly rich tune (ie: detune)...new tune coming next weekend, but I'll remember to keep an eye on the plugs.

Glad I found this thread. I actually rode in your car back in October '20 at CMP :D I had the '03 Suzuka blue.
The 2.4L felt amazing. Might end up going that route in the future and sub'd here for updates!
Planning on any NASA SE track events this year or next season?

Update: Well after just only 774 miles, cylinders 1 and 3 are toast (35 and 50 psi respectfully). Car has a real hard time cranking and firing up. Once it does it idles rough, which it's always done.

Worse news is that Inline Pro got booted from their shop, has now moved into a warehouse, and is not doing any more "mechanic" work. They said they'd look at the motor only if I pull it and ship it to them. Even then, there is no guarantee from them that they would help me at all with the motor they built, as I am outside the 1 year warranty period. So, after giving it some fresh thought, I have put a deposit down with National Speed in Wilmington to diagnose and rebuilt the 2.4 with a little bit more power (no detune) and prep for Honda Challenge. Price of Toyo RRs is now insane, Hoosiers are almost $400 a tire. Yet, the car needs to run. Remaining plans for the year are to get the top wrapped, kill switch installed, and the boo-boo on the drivers side rear quarter panel finally fixed.
