Default PureONE Oil Filters vs Honda OEM

So I read through the Honda S2000 OEM filter discussion but no one ever compared the PureONE to the Honda OEM. I used the PureONE on my Prelude but am curious if I should go with OEM on the S2000.

Also I have looked at the Wix, and Mobile 1

I change my oil every 4k miles with Mobile 1 Syn 10w30
What do you all think?

I would recommend the OEM filter.

Most newer Honda's share a common oil filter, except the Honda S2000. Honda has gone through the trouble of specifying an oil filter that is unique to the S2000, thus many have chosen to use the OEM S2000 oil filter exclusively.

Thx for the info guys, I found out that FRAM is not a choice lol

I think after doing some research that the OEM part is best, followed by PureOne, Wix, and Mobile 1.

Now another question. What is your favorite Oil? I have used in the past Mobile 1 Syn 10w30

A non-trivial number of s2000 owners observe more oil consumption when running Mobil1. I've seen it across both of my s2000's (3 motors total), so I've switched to the Castrol Syntec, though I used the Texaco Havoline GF-4 non-synthetic for years, as well.

Royal purple oil all the way. I have used mobil one in the past and have found that i consume a good bit of it in my K20. Royal Purple is Pricey, but it is good stuff!

I run Mobil1 and I burn about 1 qt per 1000 miles. I have 131,000 miles on her and 100,000 are M1 miles. I have to keep up with it though and you also have to factor in the cost of 8+ qts of oil every 3000 miles. I have been thinking about changing to something else my self. Maybe Castrol Syn would be a smart way to go.

I've never used Royal purple because a buddy of mine who disassembles Ledgens race motors for Hank Scott racing said the motors that use it look like sh!t. He said the motors that use Mobil 1 tend to look the best. He has torn down well into the thousands of raced motors so I can't help but believe him.

I have heard bad things about Royal Purple as well. I have used several different oils. Mobile 1, then went Redline when I was turbo'd, now use Castrol Syntec. I have liked them all, but the Castrol is the cheapest and easiest to get of the 3. It has been great as well!

I'm surprised for race engines they use those, there are so much better oils but it really depends on the application. royal purple race oil has a good amount of zinc in it and am surprised he said it was bad, Brad penn is also very good for racing. I wouldn't use a race oil in a daily driver engine though, unless you want to have shorter oil change intervals because of the reduction of detergents. Amsoil also make a great oil for race and their other normal sythetic for dd is good as well.
