We are having the Preliminary Coastal Run this Saturday and so far I have the following folks as confirmed attendees!

We will be meeting in New Bern tonight and then starting in the morning. We'll have about an hour or so drive to Cedar Island to board the Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke Island. . .

For the preliminary run, we will leave from New Bern at 7am - 7:30am and head out to Cedar Island to catch the 9:30am ferry ($10 per S2000). This ferry takes approximately 2 1/4 hours to reach Ocracoke Island. This should put us in Ocracoke around 12pm or so. We can do lunch on the island and scope out any interests we would want to include in the Coastal Run. We then will be ready to leave Ocracoke Island around 2pm and catch the ferry (free) to Cape Hatteras. This ferry takes approximately 40 minutes so we will arrive on the Cape at 2:40 - 3pm. We'll drive up to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and discuss what we want as part of the Coastal Run in March. Then we are off to visit Kill Devil Hills/Kitty Hawk around 5pm or so.

I have made some hotel reservations in Kitty Hawk and will more than likely stay there for the night. However, everyone is free to do what they want.

OR. . .

We will then drive back in the opposite direction and need to be at the end of Ocracoke Island no later than 8:30pm as this will be the last ferry. . .we will need to be sure and time ourselves so that we make this!

Hotel arrangements have been made in New Bern and there are some preferred pricing, but I will need to call in the reservations so please let m eknow if you are interested.

Unfortunately, taylor01 and dean29 will be unable to participate in the preliminary run. Nevertheless, we will have an awesome time and pics galore by next week!
