He did good out there for his first time out, running on street tires in a class where you can use race tires. If he had run in the Novice class, he would've finished in 7th place out of 13 people, most of which had an easier PAX time than he did (the PAX is the multiplier that lets us compare times from a Corvette to a Mini Cooper). It takes time to get used to autocross driving. Very different from just about any other kind of racing.

I need to be braver out on the course and get new wheels/tires so I don't get destroyed if people show up with r-comp tires (like I did yesterday).

Wow! So, Joe, is that a good time for me in the class I was in? It felt like I was chasing my tail-end out there the whole time...
I was a lil confused about things yesterday and couldn't figure out if I was in the right class or what?

Thanx you and drreid for helping me out tremendously and I had a ball!!!
Will try to make it out on April 22nd...

As a first timer out there, being within 10 seconds of the fastest time of the day is pretty good on a course of that length. Thats the thing with autocross. . .to turn in a good time, you have to feel sort of uneasy, putting the car right on the edge of what it can handle. And our cars can handle a good amount.

BSP is the right class for you. I'm still not totally sure about the x-brace and lower tie bar, but I highly doubt those have any real effect on the classing. Having the lowering springs and intake definately have you bumped out of the stock class though (cat back exhaust is fine for stock class). Glad you enjoyed yourself. Hopefully it wasn't too overwhelming.

My girlfriend is still amazed that we actually had 3 white S2K's at the event.

lol, it's kinda strange b/c that used to be the rarest color of 'em all from what I hear...
Well cool, that's good to know... I was def. slingin' her around... Wish I could set up some sorta camera for each run to see what I look like out there... It was a blast to really go at it hard and know that you're in a safe environment without any consequences if ya mess up... I have a greater feeling of the limits of this car and I love and respect it even more so now...

Wasn't too overwhelming, just was trying to figure out what everything meant and the rules and the classes... I'm sure all that will come with more time and exp...
