Yeaahhhh thats a rod bearing. I was listening through my phone and i recognize that sound. I have an engine for sale built head for 2k and a free tranny also with an ip tct . Lmk if you need it

i agree its sounds like its in the top - valve train, timing chain or tensioner... does not sound like rod knock, it's too tingy soundings, rod knock has a more soild knock

I have a guy coming to check out my motor this weekend but if he says it's bad I'll need your engine, where are you located?

Vtec has been acting fine and never had an issue

That's way too loud to be the TCT. You almost certainly have a spun bearing.

I, too, have a spare 2L motor sitting in my garage, if you're interested.
