Winter Projects - What's on you list?
I will go FIRST.
|
Pull current trans and install used one that is in transit to me (synchros worn out in current one).
Tear down old one to see what it needs and start planning to rebuild it as a spare |
- Finish removing glue from around the 25 y/o windshield vinyl and reapply new vinyl.
- Polish headlights and replace bulbs - seat repair - check and replace mounts |
Yeah mine above is more of an "in the next couple of weeks" project lol. Over winter if things go as planned I want to do a roll bar, seats and harnesses to add to the track safety side of things. This spring and summer has been a bit sketchy on work. Customers all worried about economy and starting up projects slowly and keep delaying. Seems to be picking up now bit by bit but I have been more conservative on what I spend on racecar stuff right now just to be safe! So all my plans revolve around how that goes. Been staying full time mostly but it has been a bit nerve wracking and thus keeping the emergency fund healthy just in case.

1. Restitch driver seat cover where its separated. 2. Replace broken passenger-side air vent 3. Replace blown speakers 4. Paint on hood and side mirrors is dead, but don't want to drop 6K to get those pieces repainted -- not sure what to do? Suggestions? |

Son got into accident so scored new front bumper and headlights, so check grinding headlights off the list.

Seat Doctors - I patched up my seats and going to continue to re-dye them as the week goes on. Passenger Air Vent has 2 metal tabs on the bottom that you need to press UP to extricate the vent. Speakers should be simple! Just watch out that you don't get speakers that are too deep for the basket. Painting hood & Mirrors - Check out AutomotiveTouchup and then when you clear coat get the 2 part epoxy! You can layer it on pretty well and if you mess up, you can then just sand it down, & buff it out. It's amazing what you can do! |
I swapped out a failing Clutch slave a couple of weeks ago. I have an oil change planned at some point. No major changes this winter.

Had to fix a strange cut in the seat. Not sure how it got there. It was on the driver's side.
Still need to take pictures of the final result. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...0fc6d23ece.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...e1b4cdc593.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...8fa8c9285c.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...78cd0ef879.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...31b660e17a.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...3bf2aab5a7.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...d60f189054.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...3cc158f2c0.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...62651862a6.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1d21eb7cf2.jpg |
