Do you have a good recommendation for a gold (read: gold-tone - who am I kidding) watch for under $1k?

 

Under $1k I'd look at Tissot, Longines, Mido, Hamilton, Rado, Movado & Seiko. Most will be quartz at that price point, but nothing wrong with that imho.
