George, thanks for bugging me about this. We'll have to decline this year: Joy's work is still at a rolling boil, and I picked up two opera companies and an orchestra appointment since we last talked.
However, if we head to Laguna Seca next year, we can approach Carmel Valley with a fresh attack plan.
That said, if you have the time or inclination, Joy's friend John owns Inspiration Vineyards. However, it is all the way up in Santa Rosa on the west side of 101.
Aside from Kunde (which I've since gotten a second recommendation aside from you), we like Cline and Domaine Carneros (they specialize in sparkling wines).
