I finally read it... good stuff

To some degree, #1, but I think most of us are very good tippers... I know all the s that I've met have been.
I'd say we're a combination of 9, 6 and 3... loud perverted/drunk frat guys and loud drunk chicks.

I guess it's just the culture here. Minimum wage for waiters/waitresses are lower than for everyone else because it is assumed that they'll get tipped. I guess you can think of it as an optional service charge.
If service isn't that great, you still tip them, just not as much (say 10%). The lowest we've tipped a waiter was $1 (and we were in a pretty large group too around 10 IIRC... ). It was pretty justified though, the service wasn't good overall, at the end when he was clearing our table, he spilled food one of my friends' laps, AND BLAMED HIM FOR IT.

WTF is that all about? Why don't they just add that charge on to the prices shown on the menu? Because they are trying to CON you !!!
Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves!!
And I agree about over service as well. The perfect waiter/waitress in my opinion is one that you can always get the attention of when you want them, but that doesn't keep coming over and asking if things are alright or if you need anything.
