I do have enough CDs to warrant buying a dedicated CD player, outboard DAC be damned.

Purchase update: the luggage is late.

I recently bought a new preamplifier for my stereo system. The CDs are being played through a Blu-Ray player.

Ive been using either the Xbox or PS for Blu-ray’s for a while. Found out over the weekend that they won’t play cds. I have a Nakamichi cd player in the basement but it’s been sitting for a while so I figured I’d just replace it. Went with the rotel since it’s got really good DAC’s onboard.

Plan is to swap the receiver and plug in the cd player this weekend. I’m hopeful the new receiver has the power to push the new speakers so I don’t then need an additional amp. Not sure how much more stuff I can buy without the wife raising eyebrows

I just bought a cordless snow blower. I think it is the way to go for the few times a season we need one. I dislike dealing with gasoline and the fumes that come off traditional blowers, plus the noise. This should work for us.

I used it today in some super heavy wet and sloppy snow/ice and it worked quite well, normal snow should be a breeze compared to this stuff , so far so good , and happy. I am not exhausted at all, I would have been near death trying to shove it.

What brand/model did you get? A friend has the Ryobi 40W snowblower and it struggled with the recent SE Michigan snowfall (similarly wet/heavy). It took 3-4x longer than his prior gas model. Of course he also pointed out the quiet/ease of use easily outweighed the (lack of) power.
