Yamahammer 750, actually. Somewhere I had a video from the bike - it's fun to watch people watch - they get motion sickness! I did it 5 or 6 yrs ago - I think one of my ex's 86'd the tape, just because

That'd be sweet to watch. It's pretty rare to get through the Dragon with any pace now. The traffic in the 4 years I've been there has probably tripled. I think my best is around 16 minutes state line to lookout (NC side is unsafe at any speed), at night when there's noone else to worry about. Though I never really timed it, just estimated off the clock on the radio.

lmao - we didn't time it, until later and we were able to watch the tape.
When I lived in B'ham, AL we used to go up there every w/e we had off. One w/e there was a Goldwing rider's group - had to cross the double yellow that w/e

I can only imagine... most of the GW guys are pretty good at pulling over, though I've never encountered large groups of them.

the dragon can be somewhat of a leisurely drive... or a very spirited drive..
or..
pretty scary.... just depends on how you choose to drive
(and being a passenger can get a little scary sometimes too.....)

most people can't drive the speed limit on the Dragon, either... so you'd fit right in.
