Kyle's lucky he's as talented as he is, because a lesser driver would have been sent packing long ago (by either the team or by sponsors bailing on him).
So maybe he doesn't care if the media likes him, but as you say, at some point his younger fans are going to assume that's how you should behave and they'll be in for a rude awakening, since they won't have his prodigious talent.
