apparently they're making their way to see ratgirl, WSB & RB

desert is  full of them slamming into car windows

C-6 just picked up a cheap power washer to clean the RV

Yeah, they're everywhere. Have been for several days. Yesterday, I drove through a swarm of them on our street, then got out of my car and walked through another swarm of them.

I wouldn't worry about it. They know how to get out of the way. There are millions of them making the normal migration from the dry deserts of Mexico to the Cascade range in the Pacific Northwest. The population is outsized this year because of abundant rain and a cooler February, which kept the plants from drying out. An adult butterfly typically only lives a couple of weeks. Their flight north is typically made up of multiple generations, with a butterfly going a certain distance, then laying eggs. Its brood will hatch and continue north. Pretty amazing!
I walked outside just now and saw hundreds of them fly by, all in the same direction.

True it is that, under a poor mask of disgust, I have endeavoured to conceal a passion whose inner fires are broiling the soul within me! But the fire will not be smothered – it defies all attempts at extinction, and, breaking forth, all the more eagerly for its long restraint, it declares itself in words that will not be weighed – that cannot be schooled – that should not be too severely criticized. Katisha, I dare not hope for your love – but I will not live without it! Darling!
