BTW, the car came with a manual, a quick start guide, some keys, and remote. Is it supposed to come with anything else? Specifically, something that indicates when the warranty starts.

I think you should switch to synthetic oil ASAP-I've used AMSOIL/MOBIL 1 in every car that I've owned and the engines have always been super clean.
Hey Dave,

There was some documentation from Honda a couple of years ago that strongly recommended not switching to synth until something near 10K miles. I remember reading about it somewhere on the site.

The idea, as I understood it, is that our engine has some unique aspects to it that require some extensive break-in.

In any case, it probably makes little difference. S2000s will always burn some oil; I guess that's the price we pay for that screaming redline.

Jack, just make sure the oil is at the top X on the dipstick on every fillup. When it drops below an X, just pour in like an 1/8 of a quart and recheck next time. Better to just experiment a little at a time. Topping off with Castrol dino should be fine until you're ready for a change.
