Clutch Pedal is Sticky/Hard to press
2005 S2000 with 51,000 miles.
So just a couple days ago, my clutch pedal was just a tad bit sticky when I would press it initial. Now, when I start her up in the morning it takes a little more force to push the clutch pedal down. Thoughts?
I took it to the dealer and they said it was the Clutch Master Cyclinder that had failed. $450(with a 10% discount) labor, parts and taxes. Just curious as to why this has happened and if it was because of the way I'm driving or normal wear and tear due to age.
Thanks all.

I would try a clean, flush and refill w/ new fluid before I buy or replace any hard parts.

Definitely flush it first, I had issues with my clutch last year and that fixed the problem for a year or so before I started having issues again. If that doesn't fix it I suggest replacing the master cylinder yourself if you are even slightly mechanically competent. It's around $200 for the part and took me a whole hour and half to replace it, most of the time was spent just trying to get the hard line on/off the one side as the angle has to be exactly right to get the threads to start.

thanks for the info. i did the flush, did'nt work. i also replaced the master cylinder, didn't work. i'm stilling have the same issue. it's initial stick when i press the clutch in to start the car. when changing gears, it's fine. do any of you think it needs more grease to smoothly move?

Clutch fork? Throwout bearing? Spline needs grease?
