Coil Packs - can they go bad at 30k?
i’m getting An intermittent subtle pop from the exhaust at idle. No change in revs, no cel.
The pops can be felt in the seat, but nothing audible under the hood.
researching online, the common answer are the coil packs.
BUT everyone with the issue was at or over 100k mi.
i’m at 30k miles on a ‘00. Before I go and take a chance on spending money on all new....
Anyone have a decent set of coil packs from 00 -05 sitting around unused that I can try, and purchase if that is in fact my problem?
I appreciate your time reading this. I’m Trying local owners before going to eBay , CL, AutoZone, or HondaParts.

I can't help with spares but good luck getting this sorted out.

I had a pack go about 2 years ago. CEL, whole deal. I bought 2 at that time. One to replace the bad one, one as a spare in case it happened on the road again.
You're free to come over and grab it to test/use then return/replace pending the results.

Not in a hurry as I don’t drive it much with salt out, but will text you to make arrangements. I have your number.
one thing unclear is identifying which one is bad.... is it trial and error one at a time?
Or is there noticeable change like brown color, or crack, or other that identifies which one has gone awry?
If the car would throw a cel, I would know which cylinder.

Yup they can but you normally get a miss
if you decide to try it, get them online: exact same honda/Denso part. I compared them when mine went bad.

might as well swap the plugs to be safe and make sure its sorted out

While you're in there it's probably worth taking a quick look at the wiring and connectors that go to the coil packs too. Age and heat cycling can play a role in deterioration of soft parts in the bay.
