DD tires? Track only tires? M&S tires?

I go to my local tire guy (not a chain), tell him what I want, (usually Hankook R-S3) and then I only take him my wheels. No chance of them fvkn up my car, stripping a stud, grease on my seat .....

I know, not everyone has the luxury of a jack and jackstands or even a garage to do this stuff.

Or an extra car to carry the wheels in.

I go with the local TireRack suggested installer, ask them for a price on the tires and either take their price or order from TireRack, whichever is cheaper.

Or that. I see Sonic has other vehicles though.

gofast182 had a horrible experience at an STS. They bent a Volk wheel and stripped a stud, all in the same visit. They weren't upfront about the damage either........

I had just the opposite. I had cross-threaded a bolt (by hand ) and broken the stud when I went to take it off the next season. Took it to STS and they replaced the stud for me for free since I had an appointment later that week to get 2 new tires.

YMMV - It all comes down to the individuals that work at the location, I'm strictly talking about the one in Frazer and only on the days where the specific people who helped me are working (no I don't know their names).

I have been buying from Tire Rack since the 80s. I use a local body shop for the installs.

Tire Rack, been using them for years. Good reviews on the site, easy ordering good pricing. They send them to a local tire place for you. I think this is so common place my tire place doesn't stock tires anymore.
