I'm getting ready to start planning drive #2, maybe with a few changes.
My changes will be almost entirely based on feedback I get from you people.
If you went on the fall 2002 drive, please PM me with your comments.
Say anything, I guarantee you I won't take anything personal, and your PM will stay between you and me.
Considering how things went last year, please PM me with your preferences (good or bad, I don't care) regarding these, and any other things:
> Dates on your calendar that you prefer.
> Day of the week you prefer.
> Beginning and ending places.
> Type of stops (interesting, scenic, facilities).
> Food (bring own, walk-through, sit down)
> Length of stops.
> Frequency of stops/length of driving between.
> Total length of drive.
> Use of rain date.
> Beginning and ending times.
> Driving pace/drive groups.
> Decibel limits on exhausts (just kidding).
Also, let me know:
> If you would like to be a group lead driver.
> If you would like to help plan the drive.
*** PM me, don't post here ***
Thanks!

Btw, what's a PM If it's anything like *PMS*, then lets avoid it My suggestions:
*Look to April for good weather
*Sunday is a good day but maybe start a little earlier?
*The Hagerstown Interstate starting spot was a neat place... use it again
*Even though I liked the Roadkill Cafe, it was probably too soon to stop; can we find a deli walk-thru place for a lunch/bathroom stop? Too bad there are not more facilities at the Tuscarora overlook
*Do some more work on the second half of the route... maybe some more back roads?
*Would it make it too long to loop further out to the west and visit the Sept 11 site in Somerset Co? This would be a meaningful attraction for a lot of ppl.
*I think 150 miles is a good distance... maybe 200 tops.
*I thought the tavern in Chambersburg was an excellent termination point, with flexible food options and good access to I-81 etc for drives home.

How does May 18 strike everyone?
This would be the Third Sunday of May.
First Sunday of May is the OBX run weekend.
Second Sunday is Mothers day.
Fourth sunday is Memorial day weekend (rain date?)
I volunteers for group leaders
I would not be surprised if we need to break into more groups this time. There will be plenty of time for practice runs.

May is a little tough cause there is always so much going on. Its the start of the shore season. I will try my hardest to make this one.
In terms of food, I think everyones brings a bag lunch and stop somewhere cool for a photo opp/ lunch. Like a park or something. Then if the event goes long enough a cool bar/restaurant can be planned at the end for those that want to extend the day.
I may be available to be a group leader but unfortunately will not know until a little closer to then.
