Refinishing OEM Wheels AP1
Any suggestions for a Philly area shop that could refinish my stock wheels? I have a lot of discoloration and some minor curb rash. Not lookin for perfection, but they are now embarrassing...
I know you're interested in AP1 wheels but refinishing is expensive. For example I paid more to refinish just one of my AP2V2 wheels than new, well regarded, reproduction AP2V1 wheels cost new in the box. About $175 per wheel as I recall. If you're due for tires you may want to consider this wheel upgrade since you'll be spending the money on wheels anyway.
I recently had a set of 4 AP2v1 wheels refinished by AWRS. The cost was ~500 for all 4. They replaced the original AP1 wheels that were on the car. I am not sure if I will get them refinished. As Chuck mentioned, find a cheap set of AP2 wheels and spend the money to get them refinished. I got mine from a breaker yard in FL.
Man, am I late in thanking y'all for your comments....but "winter" and lots of stuff got in the way
Now, I'm back looking at my AP1 wheels to figure out what to do. I sent an email to AWRS and they never replied; maybe I need to go old time and CALL them....
I'm also going to look at the Appearance forum and see if there are any DIY suggestions for a wheel tune-up.
