Whereas I believe everyone named in the poll and in some of the threads (i.e., Harrison Ford, Travolta, Anthony Perkins & Sean Connery) are excellent actors, the questions is in regards to the COOLEST guy on the silver screen. . .

Unfortunately, guys like Ford, Connery, Perkins, DeNiro, and Pachino are past their "coolest guy" prime. . . Though, they are still the cream of the crop when it comes to acting. . .

When addressing the "Coolest guy" question, I think the short short list looks like this. . .

1 (tie). Brad Pitt
1 (tie). Matt Damon
1 (tie). Russel Crowe

2 (tie). George Clooney
2 (tie). Ben Affleck
2 (tie). Edward Norton
2 (tie). John Travolta

3 (tie). Nicolas Cage
3 (tie). Tom Cruise

4 (tie). Pierce Brosnon
4 (tie). Guy Pierce

Coolest guy is the same one who has been the coolest since about 1957...P. L. Newman. If you don't believe that check out the upcoming Rolex 24 Hr.at Daytona this weekend. How could a guy who puts his ass in a GT class Porsche at Daytona at the age of 77 be topped in coolness by frickin' ANYONE??

I agree with flyellow, that line from Pulp Fiction is classic. From that line-up, I'd go with Bruce Willis. But I'd have included Sean Connery, Denzel (too many classic roles to list), and Will Smith (Indendence Day, Enemy of the State, and now Ali).

Man, this was a tough one. All those guys are pretty cool...except John Malkovich, where'd that come from . Anyway, I went with Brad Pitt b/c of his roles in Fight Club, Snatch, 12 Monkeys, and that one about the 3 brothers from Montana who went off to World War I...I'm blanking on the title.

Almost went with Kevin Spacey...his role in The Usual Suspects was just fantastic. Plus American Beauty and the Negotiator.

Which reminds me, Samuel L. Jackson would have been a good one for the list also...you can't beat some of the lines of his from Pulp Fiction . "It's the one that says "Bad [mamma jamma]" .

Ya apparently malkovich and damon could have been replaced by some of the ones you guys are suggested. No votes for them, but I had just watched rounders for about the 9000th time before I made the poll, so I had to include them.

I would have to go with Christopher Walken. Love the guy! His characters are all interesting. You think he's sane but you're not really sure. Suicide Kings is a must see!

Malkovich's Teddy KGB was excellent. However, Matt Damon stole the show. Starting with his line ". . . I'm laying this had down. . . I know its a monster hand, but I'm laying it down anyway. . . "

And to agree with many others, Samuel Jackson is WAY cool. . .

Starting with any line from Pulp Fiction, including:

". . . Ready to explode!?!?! Well I'm one mushroom cloud laying mother ^@^##^, mother $^$^$&$!!! Everytime my hand touches skull I'm like Superfly TNT, I'm the guns of the Naverone. . ."

". . . Allow me to retort. . . What does Marselus Wallace look like. . . "

". . . Tell that b%tch to be cool!!!. . . Now Yolanda, be cool see when mother $#$%@ get scared that's when mother $&%^*@ accidently get shot! Now I don't want that, you don't want that and Ringo here defintely doesn't want that. . ."
