I have to say this was less than I expected from Denzel and Gary. I liked the cast, Mila and the baddies, all well cast...but the story and the whole film had the "scifi movie of the week" feeling to me...and the awsome revellation at the end was predictible. Special effects were well done, camera work ...worked....writing was mediocre as it relied on one or two points...denzel is alone with a mission he cannot stray from....he has something someone else wants for whatever reason....there is irony....denzel is very cool and can take care of himself well...nice that it ended not far from my home so the imagry was awsome to behold.
2 outta 10 cause i like gary and denzel and gary does a great baddie.

Incredible movie. Just got done watching it. I took it as an Old Testament hero movie. I loved the theme and the cast was really good. I was surprised at the end. I actually didn't see it coming. And I'm usually pretty good at predicting movies.
I just watched this movie last night. I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't the best movie I had ever seen, but it had its unique elements which was refreshing. I would say its worth the rent.

I liked the cinematography and the characters. It was a 3/5 movie for me personally because of the cheezy religious stuff.
On the flip side, the baddy (Gary Oldman) wanted to use the book to influence people - Eli would not allow it.
Was Eli protecting the book because he believed in it, or in its historical relevance?
