can't understand why nobody reviewed this, if you have sorry i could not find it.
i just caught this on hbo or someplace like that. I wanted to like this , it has vietnam era cultural cues, music, helicopters, 50 cal , ar15, potential for lots of action. and action you get, monsters, action, etc...with filler content that is way too much. this film is about 1/2 hour too long.....had way to many subplots and characters to enjoy...everybody is 2 demensional and Kong has now grown to over 300 feet tall! I really wanted to like this....and it's worth a 3.5 outta 10 for cgi and effort and a nice setup with crummy follow through...it's also mis cast....sammy jackson is just plain wasted as a heavy,, the british guy who is the "hero" would be better in a "chick flick", etc....I rate this cause who doesn't like the promise of soldiers and helos going after monsters?

I saw Kong- SKULL Island. It was decent enough- I was never a Kong fan ever, but I actually thought it was a pretty decent rental. Was it a ground breaking plot? no. was it fun? yes it was. Was the acting typical for mindless drivel? yes. Will I watch it again? no.

Kids will enjoy this age 9+

I give it a 5/10.
