I've never been into Burton flicks. I think I still have a chip on my shoulder for his hack job with Batman in 1989. But if he's not directing this one, should be better than the usual weirdness that is Burton...

Not that I understand a damn thing about the flick from that trailer though...

You sir completely fail.

Burton is a genius and his version of Batman was by far the best and the exact way Batman should be. Not this soap opera reality TV bullshit they have today.

This trailer looks great. Can't wait to see it.

im going to have to disagree with you on that one. although i am a fan of burton's early movies, and i did enjoy the first batman, the first batman was NOT the comic book batman, something burton even pointed out himself. burton has even gone so far as to diss people that read comic books, which lost some cool points for me with him. have you read batman? it IS a soap opera, thats what made batman BATMAN, his inner turmoil! bruce waynes rage! peter parkers depression! tony starks alchoholism! thats what makes real characters, not just dudes that beat up bad guys.

I don't care about comic books. I don't care about how it's "supposed" to be. I look at all sides and make up my mind what the proper version is and should be.

The essence of a character, the darkness, the rust, the strange, odd, weird, was all captured by the first movie. And no, I do not want to watch hours of self loathing dialogue in a POW-BAM movie. Wacky Gotham is way better in movie land than just going to New York and shooting in the street. I could do that myself. That is not why I pay my $15 to watch made up shit.

Again, this is just my personal view.

^^^^^see my first post....he's a producer on this film but it has him mixed in very deep with style and framing.

The director looked over his shoulder for Tims nod on every scene I bet.

should have clarified.. i was actually responding to the batman reference. sorry, did not read anything beyond your link to the trailer. Interesting take since I believe he groomed Henry Selick as well. I am in agreement with you as both 9 and a nightmare before x-mas (others) all have tim's footprint on them. Tim's will always have a very broad range of opinions (critics) mostly around the two opposite ends of the spectrum (superb & terrible). I think he may be the most imaginative director out there.
