ROMA...I don't get it, I just don't get it
Like watching paint dry, we caught ROMA streaming on Netflix tonight. Our goal is to try and see as many Oscar nominated movies as possible. I just don't get the accolades it is receiving.
It starts out slow and doesn't go anywhere fast. Ok, sure, well acted and cinematically its well done in black and white. I started doing some research on the director and he's done some really good stuff (Gravity, Children of Men). This just seems like he made the movie for himself. A little perspective would have helped- a plot even more.
So, unless you're a film critic or a student of film, I give this a 3/10.
