Room rate isn't horrible, but good grief on the fees/taxes. Was trying to figure out going again next year but this is spendy.

It seems Fontana has updated the link. $149 for garden rooms and $189 for lodge rooms are what I’m seeing right now. Still pricey with the taxes and fees, but better than before. Thanks John and Tim!! Hope to see everyone there!

 

I received an email today just before noon CST saying he just updated the rates in the link. Quahog boy, I would recommend calling him directly if you want to ask about that. His name is Frank and he has been very helpful in trying to keep us happy within his power to do so. Just call the front desk and ask for him. The worst he can say is "no"!

 

Thanks John, I'll give him a call - I sent an email but no response yet. I just went through the link again and the price for the Willow cabins are now $159 so I'll just need it adjusted. I feel they don't respond as quickly as they did with the previous owners but they eventually do get around to it. Thank you to you and Tim with all that you put into these events.

I still like staying at the resort but they are really changing the feel to push merchandise any chance they get. My dad and I were surprised that they are even selling merch at Wildwood Grill (not going to call it Quill's Canteen haha) and it feels like they are going over the top to make it into something it doesn't need to be with all the woodsy decorations. We do like the counter service to order and then pick up or have it brought out as that cuts down on the wait staff issues. I also wish they would get around to a basic remodel of the cabins but maybe that is still coming.

 

For what Fontana offers for their high rate... absolutely nothing!

A number of us are just going to have a fun drive up in WV and skip the dragon this year.

Maybe if enough car groups skip holding events at the Dragon, they will come to their senses.....
