Default Joyce Kilmer Forest - road condition?

Has anyone been through the Joyce Kilmer forest in the past year or so? Last I talked to anyone about it the road was in fairly poor shape, but that was at least 3 years ago.

Woudln't mind making a drive through there on the detour in via Cherohala

This time last year it was nice; most of the small loose gravel that was there in years past was gone. With that said, it HAS been a year.

I don't like that road.... brings back bad memories....

Lost a car there on one of our drives....

Not me... someone else..... but he walked away from it if I remember correctly....

But, maybe I should try it again, and enjoy the scenery?

In all my time at the Dragon, I only use Joyce Kilmer as a cut through - it's really not a fun enough road to be to crazy on. If planning on going through, I'd recommend using at such - just get you from one fun road to another.

I will be checking that road out on Thursday for the Poker Run - I will let everyone know if it is not reccomended. If your at Hooters, I will know then if it will be part of the drive as it is part of my directions to stop #3 and it is the shortest route to the Cherohola from Deals Gap. All that being said, I will advise people of the road conditions prior to the event.

Are you going to be at Hooters Thursday? It would be great to see you again.

It'd be good to see you again too. It all depends on if I get called into Dallas, TX to interview. I'm not even registered for the event at the moment, though I do have Thursday and Friday off of work. I do have something I have to get back to town for on Saturday night, so if I don't get the interview, I might talk to Raul to see if I can just register for Friday/Saturday AM events. I'd probably head up Thursday night and arrive around 10pm or so, so I might miss the beginning part of Hooter's.

How's the Poker run lining up this year?

Oh, and I'm sad that the Gap might be closed from 8pm-8am That's the whole reason I got these:
