I am also arriving Weds from Columbia, MD. Are you doing it all Weds or going to Roanoke Tuesday and rest of the way Weds? I could meet you along your path!
Depending on weather, I am actually pondering going down Skyline from Front Royal and then connecting with the Blue Ridge Parkway, taking a detour after overnight in Roanoke to do the "Thirty two miles and 438 curves" at Back of the Dragon in Tazewell, VA before going the rest of the way on smaller roads. It will take a LOT longer!
