Just a thought. April may still have snow and or very cold temps. Most people run summer tires that don't get the best traction in the cold.

I join this wonderful group of people every 2 years regardless of date in the spring. Being almost a Canadian, late April/May works better as we could have snow.

As of last Friday (when I signed the contract for 2020), it'll be in May. Too many things for and not many against.
