Default What's the diff?

As you've probably read in another thread, Robert (negcamber) blew the diff on the way home Sunday. Here's my attempt to post a couple of pictures:

On the flatbed. I was impressed by the care the wrecker driver took in making sure nothing happened to the car while getting it loaded.

A picture you don't want to see yourself in.

Looks like a butterfly, but it's really diff fluid.

Ready for take-off, sort of.

A "thank you" from me to those in the S2KI community who not only allowed Robert to leave his car at their place, but to also let him crash there for the night (and offered to install the new diff when it comes in). The S2000 - good car, great people.

can't argue with that.

GL on the Diff, it's cool to know no matter where you are, you can more than likely count on s2ki members to be there.

As I recall, your car is at SC_Highlander's house, which is not far from my house. Please let me know if you need any help with the diff replacement. At least, I'd like to see the process -- and I will promise to bring some good, cold, very low viscosity diff fluid -- BEER!
I'm in the process of pulling the diff out now. Actually, all the bolts are loose, I just have to wrestle the darn thing out.

Update:

Body and soul are now reconnected!

The reinstall went smooth until I arrived to help...LOL. Then we had some small issues to resolve that ate time. I got on the road headed for Jax from Greer at about 9:30pm...stopped frequently to let the new gears cool and rest...arrived home around 4am.

Big thanks again to all who helped...and in particular Scott and AAA; Bryan and his garage; Jeff and his quick delivery of a diff.

Pics thanks to Bryan:

Glad you got your car home. Usually Happy ending's cost extra, glad to hear this one wasn't TOO bad.
