Work on the Dragon!

Quoting Killboy here from bookfaces.

"Announcement for those planning to visit between April 17-29. We had heard rumors that this might happen, but now we have confirmation. Looks like the Dragon will be closed for 30 minute intervals then open for 30 Monday through Friday. Open normal on weekends. Spread the word.

*UPDATE* I spoke to them by phone, and they said the road will be closed on both sides of the scenic overlook, very close to where work is being done. So most of the road will still be open, but turning around will be interesting for cars especially as things start to back up."

Work is 9am-3pm Monday - Friday, road closes on each side of the overlook for 30 minutes and then open for 30 during those hours.

Most of the drives on Thursday and Friday do not go across the Dragon or are after work hours. We may have some interruptions but I don't think they'll be THAT serious.

That's it! I'm not going. I'll wait until the fall dragon event.

Looks likes the dragon will become a parking lot from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm from April 17th to April 29th. LEO will be onsite at 7:30 am. They will be working on transmission lines near the overlook for 30 minutes with the dragon closed and open it for 30 minutes. Only working on weekdays.

Like Ken stated, no worries for us other than the noobie drive

I am coming over from Oak Ridge National Lab on Wednesday the 26th, 129 is the fastest way to Fontana. Going to have to plan this one out looks like I will work down to Telico plains and take the Skyway. Or sit in a line of traffic.

You're going out fairly early so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Coming back might be a different matter.
