Default Wow!

Imagine, if you will, a wonderful Spring Saturday. It's bright, sunny and the temperature is rising nicely. I'm almost done running the dragon when I see an incredible sight down near the bottom. I see what looks to be 80 or so S2K's lined up like Formula 1 cars ready for a running start. I have to admit, that's the first time I have seen THAT many S2K's together at once. I pulled over in another wide spot and snapped a couple of pics and had to watch as the caravan made their ascent up the dragon 5 at a time. I really envy you guys...to have a group that hangs together, gets organized and can actually pull off an event like this. The last group I got involved with shut down because the club pres had to take some time off for family reasons and didnt trust club leadership w/anyone else, so he just "took his ball and went home".

I tried to go by the Hotel Friday to say hello to Alex and Mike but the back parking lot was "reserved parking for S2KI" only and I knew the last thing they wanted to see was a neon cruising the lot.

I hope everyone had a great time and maybe next time I can put a face with a screen name..and maybe keep up since by this time next year I hope to have an SRT in place of the ACR.

By the way...on the way out, after the S2K departures, I passed 1-unmarked cruiser, 1-sherrif's car, 3-Tenn Highway Patrol cars and 1-Tenn Highway Patrol Harley..(last time I saw a gold harley, there was a shriner on it)...hope no one got busted..

See ya,

Don

Thanks for the journal of your experience . Sadly, I couldn't make it (last minute cancellation). So it helps me feel close to my s2k-buds & budettes to hear how great a time they're undoubtedly having.

No one got ticketed. Poindexter and I pulled off when a law enforcement vehicle pulled in behind us and Tenblade. Pointy and I watched no less than 12 vehicles make their way up. Three on bikes and the rest by four wheels. The helicopter was probably acting as a spotter as well. Yes, a helicopter to boot!

My wife did not fare well... she came very close to losing her cookies.

And I was there from Thursday till Sunday. The lot wasn't roped off till later Friday afternoon - you have absolutely no excuse

Don - I missed meeting so many people out there that I wanted to meet - I almost missed Mike!

There were enough cops on the Dragon to make me think I was back home in Virginia Beach - but the Dragon is still an enjoyable drive even at the speed limit.
