DIY AP2 Transmission Rear oil seal
Tools:
1. Flat large screw driver covered with electric tape (3x layers)
2. Allen key 8M - for Shaft bolt
3.36mm socket 3/8
4.3/8 Stubby impact gun
5. Jack Stands and floor jack
6. 12mm ratchet wrench
7. Pulley remove clam
Steps:
1. Jack up the rear of car, using diff as jack point.
2. Place card board box at bottom of car.
3. Use Ebrake to locked the rear diff, start take both side of allen screw down (mark them and using Ebrake to rotation the allen screws)
4. take out shaft protect bracket with 2x 12mm bolts (Using tool 6)
5. Insert 36mm socket into impact gun remove the nuts on transmission flange
6. Remove the flange with pulley remove clam
7. Using large flat head screw drive with tap insert into gasket and pull toward u to pop out gasket.
8. Using 46mm socket to press the seal in (Makesure grease with honda high temp grease)
9. Lube the flange inside and out, insert flange into gears and insert into gasket
10. O-ring first then white plastic washer (backup ring), spring washer and 36MM nuts.
11.Torque down with 120 ft/lbs then using flate head screw driver to punch the nut to locked.
12. install shaft back and connect all allen bolts with 60ft/lbs
13. torque shaft brackets with 30ft/lbs
14. jack up the car, remove the stand and lower the car.
15. drive around for 5 mins and check to see if any leak.
