Compilation of S2000 European Communities
Hello!
During the last years I have seen several people coming to the European Community in s2ki, asking about information concerning different countries (Italy, Spain, etc..). The main problem with these requests is that they often ignored and not always correctly answered. The main problem (or lets call it "feature") we have in Europe is the granularity of the diferent sub-communities with their own forums (outside s2ki) and most important (and thats the reason of the granularity) with different languages. External communities are often closed in themselves and they don't open to the outside world (not because they don't want, but because of location or language issues) I would like to coordinate all of those communities using s2ki as a central unifying point. Once the communication with the diferent communities is setup, we could use several synergies like information exchange and even coordinate several inter-european meets (would be possible if we would have like a Europe wide meet calendar). The task sounds very challenging, I'm not sure if we will manage to reach all what I have in mind, but I guess the only way to know it is by doing it. So let's start. First I want to define a list of European S2000 communities (forums), I have started the list and I would like that you all help me to fill the gaps (addign more forums or responsibles). Each forum should have it's own SPOC (single point of contact). These are the requirements that the candidates should fulfill: 1- Foreign Forums: The forum must be a S2000 specific Forum or at least have a specific S2000 sub-forum. Should be located in Europe or in Europe's neighbouring countries. 2- SPOC: The SPOC must be (ideally) an active user in s2ki and obviously an active user in the local forum, should speak (ideally) english and the local language of the external forum, and should have some relevance in the local external forums (ideally a moderator or admin) or at least have the express permision of the Admin of the foreign forum. Of course he should be passionate and proactive and everything expected from a community organizer :) Here the list I prepared, I guess that the only way to fill it out is by going directly to each external forum and asking directly to the admin (I will do that in a later phase, by now let's see how many gaps we are able to fill from here) What do you all think? The goal of all this work would be to finally subdivide the s2ki European subforum or just to have some contact with the local and external forums? Thanks! |
The goal is not to compete with the external forums, the external forums make sense because of lots of reasons (for example the language).
The goal is that s2ki serves as link between the different communities. If the amount of traffic generated by one specific community is big enough, then it would make sense to split this community into a separate subform in S2ki. But that's not the initial goal. |
List edited in the first post, added portuguese Forum (Thanks Miguel)
|
good job!!!
|
Added Israel to the list, thanks Croc ;)
Before someone complains.. I know that Israel is not supposed to be part of Europe, but Israel participates in the Eurovision Song Contest after all (and that's enough for me) |

Replied to your pm :hello:
More than happy to be your spoc for Belgium & The Netherlands. Belgium & The Netherlands basically form the same & only S2000 community/club accross these 2 countries. We exist already for several years and we have kept good contacts with a lot of other S2000 EU communities after the Euromeet in 2009. I tottaly support your initiative. regards, Laurent |
Great Laurent!
I will update the list with your contact data :) In order to ease the communication management, I will restrict the list of clubs to just one club per country. If a country has two clubs/forums, and they feel like they want to participate in the initiative, that's fine, but the point of contact in s2ki will be just one. I hope that's ok for everyone. |
Perfect David
Keep in touch! |
s2000 Klub Polska had s2000.eu domain already - we can make a small page with map of Europe there with links to regional forums. Just click a country on the map and go :)
|
Hi jubikej!
Map is a cool idea, we have also a s2ki.eu domain, but it just points to the EU forums. the s2000.eu could be potentially used as front page (like the s2k.gr or the s2kuk.com domains). By the way, should I define you as SPOC for the Polish community? ;) I also have some question for you.. are you aware of more s2000 clubs on the east of Europe? So far I only know about the russian and the polish clubs, I don't know if other countries have also their owns hidden clubs over there. (I have the same problem with Sweden, Norway, Finland etc etc etc..) |
I'am an administrator on our forum, so yes you can define me as a spoc :)
I dont know any s2000 clubs from scandinavia or eastern europe. |
Italy SPOC is Furio Fracaroli (Psychichi@s2ki) or Beppe Magistro - I need to check their s2ki forum names
Portugal SPOC is CharlieTheGreat (Carlos) Turkey SPOC is Tolga Ergut I will message him and direct him to this thread :) I've also messaged Malta - SPOC: Richard Gatt - http://www.facebook....32392813503895/ |
Thanks Ian!
I wrote to all of them (i think) but I still did not get an answer (holiday time maybe?) I have added your info to the list with status "to be confirmed" :) Once the list is complete, comes the most difficult part.. I thought of the following information repositories: - S2000 European Meets - Track Days (including Ring meets) - European For-Sale (including group buys) More ideas? :) |
Stocky is Luxembourg - I'm not sure who runs Germany it may be Graphunter :)
I used to have some contact with the Scandinavians, but their forum here died. All the old Scandy posts are now in this forum. Saras was the CO, but he went AWOL. France has 2: s2000.fr and s2000passion Portugal also has http://www.s2000team.com/ :) |
Luxemburg, Germany.. same thing or? (just kidding) :D
Graphtuner is from Belgium isn't it? There are also other german guys around here that moderate s2k.de.. (McHeizer por example..), Stocky also moderates/moderated s2k.de.. I guess I will just reference to this post in the german forums and let's see what they decide :) |
Hello all am Richard from Honda S2K Malta,
|
Welcome Richard!
So nice to have you in the team  Malta sounds like a really nice place to visit :) |

Looks like you're planning on putting together a big Meet David.
That'd take about 2 years from experience. So 2 years from now would be what ? 15 years of S2000. I like your style. ;) |
Hi. I'm from Norway, and very often on both s2ki and the Norwegian forum (normally a few times a day). We don't have a S2000 specific forum, as there are quite few S2000's in Norway (last number I got is appr. 70). About 10 of the owners is what can be called (at least almost) active users on the Norwegian Honda forum (5 being sincerely active). Pm me, and maybe I can help be a contact person towards the Norwegian forum. :)

Honda S2000 Owners Club" - that Forum also serves the Luxemburg, Swiss, and Austrian S2k communities. Although some Lux. and Swiss people might be present in French forums, I believe the majority of these countries are on the German forum. :hello: |
Hey guys, over here in Romania we got www.hondafan.ro/forum it is bassicly a Honda comunity but we also got a special section for us s2k drivers from around here. nice to meet you guys.

Could you maybe contact with some of the admins/moderators of that forums so that we get some official point of contact for the s2000 section of the community? :) |

Idea is fabulous, resources are limited
We first need a strong community with strong organizational skills and the will to do it.. or we reactivate the idea of a European Round Trip (multicountry, multiculti..) :) |
Come on guys! I'm in for Euromeet 2014! :D Euromeet 2009 was awesome! You guys did a hell of a job there :)
