Bradenton Herald today, new test track road course under developement south of tampa!
 

Primus Racing, specializes in Formula Ford racing, imports the cars and parts and stuff is building a 1.1 mile road course just south of Tampa. Going to be a private test track that will also be available for rental.
Supposedly they are using Sebring as inspiration for track design.
Sounds killer to me!
They are in the final site plan permit stages and are hoping to be under construction by the end of January.
Just thought I'd spread the news.

So where is it, and are they using an old airfield also?

been awhile!
no airfield, it's all new construction.
The location is close to 275 & 75, around the moccassin walow road exit. I don't have the address in front of me, they're hoping to begin construction by the end of the month so it'll be awhile before they're running there. I've already emailed them for info, I'll post it as soon as I find more out.

I viewed the track layout about a month ago and was impressed ... it will contain just about every type of turn you can think of. They will also have karting track within the facility. I also spoke to them about group pricing of the track and it will be available. Just a FYI ... Primus just started importing a Honda (bike engine) powered car categorized as a "Formula S".
