civic si?
after school i raced this kid in a Civic Si not exactly sure what alll is done to it. all i know is hes running open cat i think something not there with his exhaust theres no muffler. anywho we went from a 30mph roll. took me to 80 before i started putting distance on him. he got the jump i evened up but untill 80 i gained no ground.
i know he doesn't have much done.
are they that fast? i mean alot of u guys have seen the cars i've raced. whats going on here?

What year civic si? I owned several, the 2000 civic si is pretty quick and light and with a full sweet of comptech gear, it was a blast to drive. Furthermore, parts are a lot cheaper on civic si's so building them up is very attainable for the younger crowd and much more common.

The new civic Si's are really impressive. I wouldve gotten my S first. There are about 3 round abouts where I live and i attempted to dust him. And either he kept up for two reasons.
A. He was crazy and was willing to hurt himself showing off.
B. I didnt push my S hard enough around those curves.(pushed very hard)
I thought when i cleared the round-abouts i'd lose him but he was close.

I test drove a broken in 2006 at Crown Honda and I wasn't too impressed. I keep hearing all over these boards that they're almost as fast as an S2000. That's pretty relative. It wasn't slow but it for sure wasn't in the same league as an S2000 and felt a lot less torquey if that's possible. It didn't feel as stout as an RSX-S although they share the same powerplant.

the the civic and rsx dont share the same engine. well they do just an off shoot of it.
anywho no bov. he's not rich and he hasn't done much to them.
i just dont know how a 197hp car can even keep with a 240.
according to edmunds this is the civic si
7.2-second 0-60; 15.1-second 1/4-mile
i know the s2k is around 5.5 to 60 and low 14 in 1/4. soooo wth?

Maybe you just suck at driving the S2k?
Seriously, the K20 motor that both the RSX and Civic Si share, and yes it is the same exact engine hence no more RSX, responds very well to mods. Sounds to me like you either got hustled or you can't drive your S very well.
I had a new Si for a couple months, it's fast, but not S2000 fast.
