Hi Everyone - I've started this thread in the Tampa forum when we thought the shuttle would have launched a week ago. Now with the potential for a night launch later this month it's just too good to pass up!

I am planning a cross-state drive from Tampa to a spot I know where we can watch the launch with no obstructions. (Just water to Cape Canaveral ~9mi) You can't get closer without clearance to get on the Cape itself. There is plenty of parking and might make for a nice photoshoot if we time it right.

A few Tampanians have expressed an interest - if you're in Orlando or somewhere along the way, why don't you join us midnight riders? Please post up if you're interested!

Remember, even if you don't join us, this is likely the last night launch, and possibly the last shuttle (STS) launch ever.

I will update this post and the original in Florida\Tampa with more info once I put the run details together.

if it goes off at 4am that tuesday morning then i'll def be there. never seen the shuttle launch up close. a night launch would be incredible. hope there aren't anymore delays. count me in for this new launch date

Is the final destination sr50 and highway 1?

Would like to catch up with the caravan when it travels through Orlando. We need an Orlando meeting spot.
