@thraak and others: Yes I am currently plotting a path from Eastern Tampa through Orlando and on to the observation spot. We'll be enjoying back roads most of the way, but I plan to have meeting spots along the way for those in the Gainsville, and Orlando areas and possibly those coming from Jax/Miami can just meet us in Titusville.

Also - this is great interest! With y'all and the people in the Tampa forum we are looking at a great turnout!

While looking at the below banner ad was displayed.

Since a good portion of us will be on the other side of the state, some might want to take in this...

Awesome, I used to work on the shuttles...got laid off Oct. 1st. Not sure what I'm doing for the launch but this may be a good option! Gonna have to keep checking here. Keep in mind, traffic will be INSANE. so plan on going to a local bar after.

I also live in cape canaveral so its a hop skip away!

Edit- not the final launch either...

That is a good deal

I purchased a pair of tickets a few years ago ... and, I'm not certain if it still applies but the tickets came with special viewing area passes. Anyone know if this is still the case?

Also ... feel free to offer up any local places to hang out afterwards Sproket

A good bar for food n drinks in the port is Fishlips. There is also Grills and Millikens. all in port canaveral. Check out Jetty Park as well for a viewing area of the launch, which is pretty much in the neighborhood of the port (you know, being a jetty off the port...)

SO that may be a good area, and thats my local advice!

GET excited!!
