For Sale: 1998 Honda Accord EX

Up for sale is my wife's 1998 Honda Accord with 185K. We bought the car in 1998 with 3K. Nothing wrong with car, it's just she wants a two door. Car was in an accident about 8 years ago and was hit in the drivers door and was repaired. I had no intention on selling but you know how it is. We found a car on Carmax and will be delivered in about 10 days and sale is dependent on weather she buys it but it looks like she will. I have been using Mobile 1 and OEM filter since 18k. I just installed new struts last month and the timing belt was changed in January, brakes are about a year old (have new fronts and rears in box) cat was replaced about 3 years ago along with the radiator. New OEM headlights about 6 months ago. Tune-ups were done on a regular basis and all replacement parts are Honda. Very dependable and strong runner. Just thought I give a local first chance at a good car before I use it as a trade in. Any question please call 407-509-1153
Thanks
Mike

Thanks for everyone interests and support, I have a primary and back-up buyer.

Even with high milage, that looks like a great deal for a DD.
Exterior looks great, paint still shines.

jamesk 07-13-2009 12:41 PM

1800?

speedworksracing 07-13-2009 01:25 PM

$2500 is a great price for this car. Dont let the miles scare you Avionics keeps his cars PERFECT. No doubt this will make someone a great daily.

I am going to mention this to my brother. He has a 15 year old who will be taking drivers education in August.

Looks like it would be a good car for a new driver.

I will let you know.

duboseq 07-13-2009 01:52 PM

It does not leak does it?

Blacknot 07-13-2009 05:43 PM

I have first dibs on it. I already am going to see it on Friday and will pay the $2500. I'm 100% going to buy it if it checks out ok.

OP;

My friend Deon called you yesterday and is real interested. He really needs a car because he and his wife got laid off from their jobs
and had both there vehicles repo'ed.

I recently hooked him up with another job at Nissan of Brandon since my dad works there and he is in training now as we speak. His wife just got a job at a pharmacy but neither have transportation and they are borrowing her mom's car. They also live with her mom as well and have a six month old girl.

They are trying to get back on their feet and are in the process of moving but they really need reliable transportation.

I'm typing this on his behalf because many my try to get this car to flip it or whatever. Everyone has their own reason. He needs this car as a blessing and if he got it, it truely would be one.

I was joking (note the smiley face). Between your reason and Q's friends obviously others need it a lot more than my neice as a first time driver. Good Luck with the car.

golfreak12 07-14-2009 11:24 PM

Actually I was the first to post so I have dibs.
Plus the fact that I live real close.
Oh wait, I already have a DD.
Good luck to whoever gets it.

speedworksracing 07-15-2009 05:06 AM

Damn I have never seen a fight like this over a car before. Maybe I should post up some of my good deals from my lot.

jamesk 07-15-2009 01:53 PM

I have first dibs.

I'm seeing the car on Thursday paying the asking price in full.

I was laid off last monday and have no income at the moment. Give your spare car to your wife and stop being so selfish.

jamesk 07-15-2009 01:55 PM

..but first, id like to take a look at speedworks inventory first.

Indyana 07-15-2009 02:04 PM

Wow this is getting ugly............me thinks the seller has the last word on who gets the car

Are you saying you have dibs on Speedy's inventory as well?

Unless you give a deposit with your 'dibs', seller can sell to whomever he wants to-no matter if the buyer is first/middle or last person who posts/contacts him. And even then-unless he signs a contract with you, he can give back your deposit and sell it to whoever he wants to.

jamesk 07-15-2009 06:33 PM

^^thanks for the lesson

Just to clarify things i offered to come give the guy a deposit the day he posted it. Like most of the people i have bought things from on here he wasnt worried about it. We had an agreement that i wanted the car. When i commit to something i dont back out since i dont like it done to me. That is probably the reason the OP hasnt posted in here. I'm driving to his house tomorrow to get give him a deposit and when his wife's new car arrives im picking it up. So to answer everyones question i didnt post but was the first to call and commit to buying it so i have dibs on the car. That is between the seller and i. I love how this thread has turned into pure entertainment.
