Hey all...I recently upgraded my head-unit and figured I'd give the s2k community first crack.

It is a Sony CDX-GT820IP. It has an iPod cable built in and will control the iPod from the HU. I also used it with the original 2G iPhone and it worked fine...it will ask you to go into airplane mode, but if you ignore the warning everything works. The phone will even ring over the speakers and mute the music if you answer. Plus it will charge the 2G iPhone.

The HU will also work with the newer 3G iPhones BUT it will not charge a 3G iPhone. This is why I'm selling...I upgraded to the 3G iPhone and I need to be able to charge without using the cig lighter.

I have not tested it with an Apple Touch, but I'm sure it would charge an early version.

I will sell it with a Modifry wired DCI. All your dash controls will work like normal!! This is one of Modifry's original PnP versions for the Sony, which he doesn't appear to sell any longer.

Note that I don't have the remote that comes with the HU...but with the DCI controls, the remote is pointless.

Install could not be more simple. Plug the DCI into the HU, then plug the DCI into the car harness and you are listening to music. No solder required.



You can buy a new GT820IP off eBay for $134 shipped. The Modifry DCI is $90 without shipping. And Modifry's PnP harness is $25 without shipping. I'm looking to get $160 for everything shipped (continental US only). It will ship in it's original box.
