Thumbs down HELP!

okay so last night, I hopped in my S tried to start it and it would not turn on. You could hear the starter clicking but I had no power at all. Lights inside the cabin were very dim, barely visible. Im thinking it might be my battery, I dont know for sure. If it is the battery, is their a specific battery you guys would recommend? Since it is a saturday, I dont think the honda parts department is open, so I wont be able to get an OEM battery. I called autozone and they have the duralast gold top. I did some searches on the forums and a bunch of people have those batteries.

I was able to have my buddies push my car so I got it to crank with a rolling start. Im really hoping its just a simple fix as getting a new battery. But now im starting to question my alternator. How do you know when your alternator starts going bad?

Take your car up to autozone. They will tell you if it is your battery or alternator. I think Rehile had the battery that you are talking about. I am probably going to buy am optima yellow top when it comes time to replace my battery. It probably won't happen until next spring.

Apparently your car did/does need "HELP"

As Jimmy said, AZ should be able to tell you if the alternator is OK - if so it's probably just the battery, especially if it's the OEM one...

Fyi, Honda parts are usually open Saturdays if you wanted to try your local dealer - I don't know how their price would compare...

Honda parts department is open on Saturdays and the price of an OEM battery isn't really much higher than a Duralast one (with a club discount).

Did you do anything out of the ordinary since the last time you drove the car, such as sit in the garage, drink a beer or two and listen to tunes?

After you got the car started and ran it for a while, did the battery recharge... or ... did you still have the same symptoms?

If you go with a new battery, I would also suggest the optima yellow top. Have owned one for a couple of years now and am very happy with it. Didnot even need to take it out during the winter and the car started up fine in the sping. I think Batteries Plus has the optima on sale right now. (I think). Tryt to find it on sale as it is one of the more expensive batteries out there.

Sorry for the delay in response guys!

But it was the battery! I had it replaced with an OEM Honda. it was 92 bux with my core traded in. Im guessing my car still had the original battery because it was a Honda OEM as well. 89k miles aint bad!

But now Im having this issue when i turn off my head unit off my sub keeps playing and increases in tone length and it'll shut off but like a couple of mins later. Im guessing its some kind of electrical surge or sumthin? any ideas?

Do you have an amp. Was your HU on by chance when the battery was replaced. If so, a surge is most likely the issue. A surge protector in your AMP or HU is probably damaged. Hard to tell without looking at it.

My battery died last night on a date (with an ex).
Had to go buy jumper cables.
Partially because I turned on the headlights before I pushed the start button.
The car started up this morning, but it is staying put until I can get another battery.
