New Car Questions
Just recently sold my Focus and I am looking to switch to an s2000. From experience have any of you daily driven yours during the winter? Also do any of you have imput on the electronic stability control of the 2006+ year cars? I feel the VSC would help in the winter but I am looking for real experience. This is really the only thing holding me back from getting an older model.
Speaking from experience.... I used my S2K during one winter. As log as the roads are DRY you're probably OK, but... be prepared to pick up all the road salt and debris that the winter roads have. If wet or snowy... it's recommended you leave the S in the garage.
I owned an AP1 for nearly 10 years so I did not have the benefit from VSC. You do have the ability to activate or disable so that would be a plus (maybe)

Hello,
I have been daily driving my 2001 for 4 years now. During the winter, I actually run an all season tire, Continental ExtremeContact DWS to be exact. I've driven in up to 4 inches of snow before and haven't had any problems getting around.
You may like an AP2 better for daily driving, like you mentioned it has VSA, but it also will have more low-end torque

Currently if I got an s2000 I couldn't let her sit in a garage. As I look for a s2000 I will be using a beater ford taurus. Once I get an S2000 it will be my only mode of transportation. Thanks for the input guys. My DD is really just driving to the metro 3 miles from my house m-f. I guess I don't need to limit my search for 2006+ then.
Drive mine every day with Bridgestone potenza RE-11a's on all four corners. As long as your easy withy the throttle and don't come completely off of it if it starts to slide your good in the snow. If you get an ap2 leave the traction control off in the snow it doesn't work to good in anything over a dusting.
