I have a 2006 Laguna Blue S2000 that just turned 30,000 miles. It is in very good condition and has a hard top I have had on the car twice for a total of maybe four months. It has the expected rock chips, but the paint looks great, no accidents or paint work, rims show no curb rash, top is in good shape, Michelin pilot super sport tires with about 10,000 on them, and interior is about perfect. Always garaged and not driven in the rain or snow. Wondering what it should bring if I decide to sell it and if I should sell the oem hard top separate or with the car. I hate to get rid of it, but I keep looking at cars to replace it.

 

I think it is incredibly hard to value cars without seeing them. Do you have a number in mind that would convince you to sell it? May be easier to help you decide if that number is obtainable if the condition is what people expect for the price. I have a friend who is interested in possibly getting an s2k so if you have a price you are thinking let me know and I can see if he is interested. As for the hardtop I would keep it together if it was me, even if you could get a little more money by separating to me would not be worth the hassle of selling both separate.

 

After looking at several web pages and prices people are asking I was thinking $24,000 as a starting point. I agree on leaving the hardtop with the car. It isn't worth the hassle of taking out the catchers plus finding someone to come get it. Shipping one would not be too much fun!

 

Geography plays a large part in the pricing of our cars and your $24K starting point seems very reasonable but you can't sell the car via a "I'm thinking" note, you need to advertise it. Some markets are saturated with these cars, other places have few available. The OE hard top is a big draw for some and a {{yawn}} for others who have no use for one.

The roadster market will slow to a crawl in Northern climates in a couple of months. In Ohio my car went into winter storage around Halloween and didn't come out until Easter. Southern climates are, of course, far different but we haven't a clue where you or the car are sitting other than this is in the "gateway" section wherever that might be.
