Calendar enhancements or Messaging
 

I am going to start to work on the calendar.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they would like to see, or
a URL that I can visit to get ideas from.

OR

Should I work on a Message Center that would allow email to be sent to a list
of members. I can add in Email, fax, page....

OR

Whatever you guys think I should do next.

A nice calendar function would be the most useful. Something similar to what S2ki has here would be nice. I'd like to be able to click on any event and get more info. On the info page I'd like the ability to add html links and maybe even a picture. Tracking participants would also be nice. Maybe we can combine the event registration feature into this so people can put their name in. Otherwise we could link over to a thread on this forum if we think that would work better.

If there is an event that spans multiple days it would be nice to show a bar on the calendar page that spans across both days in the month view, like the way the Outlook calendar functions.

Rather than you having to write the code, is there a plug-in module that does all of these functions? I'll look around the web for some examples.

This is an (almost) out of the box application. I would change the user interfaces a little (lot!!!!) But you can tell me if you like the funtionallity before I make it pretty!!!

Is there any way to incorporate the same type of procedure Evite does? It's cool to see whom is going to events, whom is not, their comments, whether they are bringing anyone or not, etc. It's just a thought....

I will have to look at teh code and determine what / when things are happening.
One thing I already know that I can do is setup teh profiles to feed the calendar for Birthdays!

This means that we will have to change the profile page to accept your birthday instead of your age. You can elect to Hide the date, and still have the Day displayed on the calendar.

I kind of have the EVITE funtionallity on the Home page for storeing who is going to an event. Add ing comments would be easy. I will have to think about how to integrate into the calendar.

This calendar is great. Will it have the capability to link to an event forum directly from the calendar? Say, Outer Banks Run in March. Click on the dates and it takes you to the forum in S2KI.

Yes it can.

Just type in the URL to the forum in the Event URL section.

If you do not have a URL to link to, and want to create one, it will let you do that as well.
